Case study · Restaurant

They lost their website.
We built one that takes orders

The domain lapsed and the old site went with it, ordering and all. The new one takes the order, tracks it, and puts every catering request on one screen the kitchen can work from.

Jerk, oxtail and the by-the-pound counter at full width, with ordering one tap away on every screen.

Where they were, and what we did.

Where they were

  • The old site was gone. Domain and hosting had lapsed.
  • Ordering went with it. Orders had nowhere to land.
  • Google could read two pages of forty-seven.
  • The listing promised a dining room they do not have.

What we did

  1. 01Built a new site that takes the order and tracks it.
  2. 02Put every order and catering request on one screen.
  3. 03Pointed all sixty-six old addresses at their new pages.
  4. 04Rebuilt the menu off the board in the shop.
  5. 05Printed what catering costs, so nobody has to call.
  6. 06Built the Portmore restaurant its own site.

Not just the website

Every job we ran on this business.

One brief, and then the whole of it worked the same way.

01

The website

Rebuilt after the old one went, with ordering on every screen.

02

Ordering

Pickup or delivery taken on their own site, not somebody else's.

03

The menu

Rebuilt off the printed board in the shop, so the prices agree.

04

Showing up on Google

Sixty-six old addresses pointed at the right new pages.

05

The listing

Kept matching the site, so the two cannot disagree.

06

Catering

What a tray costs and how many it feeds, written down.

07

The second restaurant

The Portmore location got a site of its own.

08

The kitchen screen

Orders and catering requests on one screen the kitchen works from.

ClaudeEvery one of these was worked on Claude, with a person deciding and signing off.

What is on the account now.

Google could read two of their pages. Now it reads seventeen of nineteen.

Still open

Catering is the part that has not moved. Searches for catering brought thirty-two showings and no visits in ninety days, and the invitations we sent have not been answered yet. It is the next job.

  • Hours changed in September and we were not given the new ones, so this page states none.
  • No dine-in at the Queens shop. It is takeout, delivery and catering.

  • Their hours, menu and prices live in one place, so the site and the listing cannot disagree.
  • Every old address was checked and pointed somewhere, one by one, until all sixty-six passed.
  • The menu is rebuilt from the board in the shop whenever it changes.
  • Orders and catering requests land on one screen the kitchen works from.

A person checks the menu against the board and approves every change before it goes live.
